We are seeking a Scientist to support the overall functions of the Laboratory of Malaria Immunology and Vaccinology (LMIV), Molecular Pathogenesis and Biomarkers section., NIH: 




  • Identify targets for malaria vaccine and host biomarkers using proteomics tools, and utilize proteomics tools to support the research.
  • Develop and maintain proteomics capabilities, be involved in planning and conducting laboratory experiments to support the program.
  • Operate and maintain nanoflow liquid chromatography and mass spectrometer (orbitrap fusion Lumos).
  • Perform proteomics research including data analysis and interpretation
  • Perform metabolomics research including data analysis and interpretation
  • Prepare samples for mass spectrometry.
  • Establish proteomics methods.
  • Obtain and analyze mass spectrometry data.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Order and maintain supplies.
  • Culture Plasmodium parasites.


  • Work location: Bldg 29B, RM 4E14
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Proteomics or related field
  • Three or more years of experience in proteomics research
  • Experience with proteomics pipeline (sample preparation, LC and MS operation, and data analysis).
  • Experience with MS data analysis software.
  • Experience with orbitrap fusion Lumos is advantageous
