Our core practice areas include HIV/AIDS, microbiology and infectious disease research, vaccine research, development and production, global health security, biodefense, and clinical research.  This position will support the Pilot Bio-Production Facility (PBF) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in Silver Spring, Maryland.


  • Execute routine monitoring tasks and day to day operations of the unit.
  • Routine tasks:
    • Cleaning and sanitization of production clean rooms and equipment
    • Washing and autoclaving of production and laboratory materials
    • Washing, autoclaving and depyrogenation of production and laboratory glassware
  • Order supplies and perform basic equipment care as needed.
  • Participate in SOP revision or authoring of new SOPs as they pertain to this job description and as required.
  • Provide all job-related progress reports or technical reports as requested, in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations.
  • Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.
  • Performs light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.


  • High school diploma required; associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Skills in various methods pertaining to the cleaning and sanitization of GLP or GMP equipment/areas a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience with technical writing and LIMS a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently following specific technical training.
