USAID's Bureau for Africa requires a qualified and experienced Regional Environmental Compliance Advisor to support assistance programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Regional Environmental Compliance Advisor will serve as a member of the Environment Team of the Economic Growth, Environment, and Agriculture Division within the Bureau of Africa’s Office of Sustainable Development (AFR/SD/EGEA). Among its technical implementation responsibilities, AFR/SD is tasked with providing technical support to USAID/Africa Missions and USAID/Washington on natural resource management issues. AFR/SD also has the responsibility to ensure that environmental considerations are incorporated into results planning, implementation, and monitoring, in compliance with USAID’s environmental regulations and in the interest of more effective program implementation. EGEA works to achieve these objectives in collaboration with a wide range of partners across Washington and in the field, in other USAID bureaus, and in other U.S. Government agencies. The Regional Environmental Compliance Advisor will serve as a member of a three-person environmental compliance team and will work under the guidance of the Bureau Environment Officer.
