    CAMRIS seeks a Data Analysis Specialist for the upcoming USAID/Vietnam Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for Sustainability (MELS) Activity. The USAID/Vietnam MELS activity will be a five-year activity with an expected start date in 2019. Under this award, CAMRIS will provide fast, flexible, demand-driven monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) support, guidance, and capacity development for USAID/Vietnam, it’s implementing partners, Government of Vietnam stakeholders, and local research organizations.


    • Collaborate with and serve on evaluation teams in the design and conduct of impact and performance evaluations, surveys, analyses, studies and assessments.
    • Conduct data cleaning, management, and analysis including advanced statistical analysis.
    • Collaborate with the project team in improving the quality of performance monitoring by project staff and implementing partners including: data collection, monitoring, reporting, dissemination, and related tasks.
    • Initiate and coordinate the development of appropriate methods for obtaining relevant data and ensure the quality of data in line with USAID rules and regulations and data quality standards. 
    • Provide customized training, capacity development and provide technical assistance to USAID and implementing partner staff in statistical methods and data analysis.
    • Conduct data quality assessments in the field, as required.
    • Ensure gender, disability-inclusive, and conflict sensitive factors are consistently and systematically tracked and reported in accordance with USAID data reporting requirements.
    • Liaise frequently and regularly with a variety of stakeholders including USAID staff, project participants, implementing partners, local, regional and national governments as well as international organizations and donors.
    • Attend local, regional and international meetings, as required.


    • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in statistics, economics, social science research methods or related field
    • Extensive quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills using common quantitative and qualitative data analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, Nvivo, or Maxqda
    • At least 5 years of experience in indicator development, data collection, quantitative/statistical analysis, data quality assessments, and performance monitoring and reporting
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a highly-skilled and interdisciplinary team, interact with and lead a broad range of governmental and non-governmental actors, and implement detailed and accurate monitoring and evaluation.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
    • Experience building knowledge management systems
    • Experience developing curricula and training in statistics and quantitative and qualitative data analysis
    • Prior experience in Vietnam and/or the region desired
    • Excellent communication, supervision, and management skills
    • Fluency in English and Vietnamese required
