The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has contracted through Social Solutions International partnered with CAMRIS International, to recruit and hire qualified individuals for the following position:


United States Agency for International Development, Office of General Counsel (USAID/GC)


Title:  Temporary Administrative Assistant


Period of Performance- 3 Months

The Temporary Administrative Assistant performs a variety of both complex and routine administrative duties that are critical to the functioning of the Office of General Counsel.  The Assistant’s duties range from basic office tasks such as answering telephones, managing formal correspondence, to more complex tasks such as researching and summarizing information, reporting back on meetings, and providing input on special projects.  The individual must be motivated, proactive, organized and have strong interpersonal communications skills. Candidate must currently have a secret clearance which is required for the position.


The Assistant must rank tasks in order of importance and impending deadlines and handle several tasks simultaneously.  



The Office of General Counsel supports USAID's mission by providing timely legal advice and by representing the Agency in all legal matters.

  • Prepares travel Authorizations and Vouchers in E2, USAID’s travel software program and all associated actions including making travel arrangements with Duluth Travel Agency, coordinating country clearances, assisting with passports, etc.
  • Routine office work such as making telephone calls, responding to inquiries, answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, maintaining his/her calendar by scheduling appointments, etc. Incumbent personally responds to technical requests for information.
  • Uses word processing software and printing equipment to create and edit text. Uses database or spreadsheet software to revise, sort, calculate and retrieve data.
  • Searches for, assembles, and summarizes information from readily available files, documents and personnel. Material is organized and reports or responses to inquiries are prepared from this research.
  • Assists Administrative Officers with supply requisitions, storage, retrieval and delivery.


  • High school diploma and at least 2 years of professional office experience. 
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills. 
  • Solid interpersonal, team working skills and resourceful.
  • Applicant must be proficient in Google, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet, Excel, Power Point, and other current technologies.
  • Candidates must be willing to work full-time. 
  • Must have a Secret security clearance which is required. 




Oral and written communications skills and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general information is critical.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public is necessary.
