CAMRIS seeks a Research Associate III (C3PO) for an upcoming contract with the Naval Medical Research Unit – San Antonio (NAMRU – SA). NAMRU – SA is a major research and development center conducting medical, dental, and directed energy biomedical research, which focuses on ways to enhance the health, safety, performance, and operational readiness of Navy and Marine Corps personnel and addresses their emergent medical problems in routine and combat operations.

 

 

The purpose of this contract is to provide support to NAMRU-SA and its collaborating institutions in the conduct of the following research areas: expeditionary and trauma medicine, cellular and immune based adjuncts for casualty care, directed energy and bioeffects, systems engineering and evaluation, epidemiology and biostatistics, environmental surveillance and biomaterials, and maxillofacial injury and disease in consonance with the mission of the Combat Casualty Care and Operational Medicine and Craniofacial Health and Restorative Medicine directorates at the NAMRU-SA.

 

Note: The position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with collection of supporting documentation for contract packages, IACUC/IRB protocols for projects performed under this contract, research proposals and protocols, manuscripts, SOP’s, reports and presentation editing/review. Assists in initiating and maintaining regulatory IACUC/IRB requirements.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate the implementation of clinical research studies, including regulatory requirements, maintenance of study records and all activities associated with internal and external audits.
  • Assists in preparation of purchase requests for animal procurement and coordination of shipping procedures.
  • Assists in preparation of purchase requests and assist with maintenance of inventory of supplies.
  • Modifies and plans research experiment schedules, procedures, and tests.
  • Ability to develop, organize and maintain the study database. Responsible for data validation and quality control.
  • Writes and edits research material for publication and presentation.
  • Oversees the work of junior level contract personnel.
  • Assists PI in tracking and updating established project budgets.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a relevant field and three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience with the U.S. military is highly preferred.
