The Navy Medical Research Center (NMRC) has contracted through CAMRIS International to recruit and hire qualified individuals for the following position:
Title: Junior Research Scientist/Staff Scientist
The mission of NMRC is to enhance the health, safety, performance and deployment readiness of Navy and Marine Corps personnel. NMRC conducts basic and applied biomedical research, development, testing and evaluations in the areas of biological defense, bone marrow, combat casualty care, and infectious diseases.
Job Summary: This position is located in the Department of Malaria, Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for conducting research experiments in support of a new malaria antigen for vaccine development. This position may require working evenings or weekends, depending on the workload of the laboratory.

Eligibility / Qualifications:
Work will require standing and/or sitting for long periods of time; bending from a standing or sitting position; intricate work with hands; carrying of light laboratory equipment; walking; working for extended periods with laboratory animals; handling and performing procedures on laboratory animals.
Molecular biology and immunology laboratory. The incumbent can routinely works with animal and its reagents and hazardous chemical reagents in laboratory procedures.
