CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.
Creates and maintains a relational database system to share in the research setting.
Standardizes data management procedures across the program; sets up data organization for collaborative use with the program.
Create privileges that allow both data sharing between users and restricted access for particular subsets of data.
Develop security measures to protect information, including user authentication and database activity logging procedures.
Develops programs and procedures for inserting data from legacy formats such as spreadsheets into database.
Conducts analyses of data.
Participates in meetings to study design and data issues; provide computer/information technology expertise as necessary for studies.
Trains staff to use database management systems for analysis/graphics.
2-10+ years experience in data management .
Familiarity with computer platforms and statistical packages.
Experience in creating data management tracking systems, error-checking procedures and back-up procedures to prevent loss of data.
The ability to write programs in Matlab and other languages to extract, analyze, and format data.
Expertise with dynamic web and relational database programming.
Knowledge of Federal information technology policies and regulations.
Master’s degree in IT or computer science. Four (4) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Master’s degree.
