CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and carries out the completion of comprehensive communication activities outlined within the Program’s strategic and operational plan.
  • Oversees development of written and electronic information documents for various audiences.
  • Coordinates and monitors searches of media sources for latest information pertaining to the Program.
  • Manages and advises staff who research, write and edit speeches, brochures, reports, fact sheets, talking points, press releases, responses to inquiries and letters to the editors of publications.
  • Advises management regarding press coverage obtained through press calls, news alerts, and other sources.
  • Builds relationships with the press and maintains specialized contacts.
  • Attends workshops, seminars, and meetings to stay abreast of current scientific and policy trends.
  • Facilitates and coordinates materials for new meetings and conferences to promote initiatives within the Program.

Qualifications

 

  • 3-11 years experience in a related field.
  • Computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in proofreading and editing.
  • Experience in organizing information and gathering information related to the development of reports, briefings, and media outreach.

 

Minimum Education:

 

Master’s degree in a related field. Two (2) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Master’s degree.
