    CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

    CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Provides scientific expertise needed in order to function as the lead chemist of a large laboratory. Maintains, operates and calibrates numerous machines for use in various experiments and procedures. Assesses methods and procedures for use in experiments and makes modifications/improvements to resolve problems and meet specific needs. Maintains accurate, detailed records of experiments, and evaluates and interprets results for validity and scientific meaning. Works with staff to prepare laboratory findings for publication and presentation at meetings. Records raw data.

    Qualifications

    10-12+ years of experience working in a laboratory with 5+ years experience working as a team leader. Demonstrates expertise in performing numerous laboratory experiments and procedures.

    Demonstrates ability to maintain and operate a laboratory. Demonstrates leadership qualities.

     

    Minimum Education:

     

    Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.
