    CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

    CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

    Responsibilities

    Designs, builds, and maintains a robust and flexible informatics infrastructure to support data collection. Coordinates data storage and mining with informatics groups or other screening centers.

    Works with staff to analyze data from all stages of assay optimization and probe discovery. Provides reports on data analysis which assist the program with accomplishing research goals. Manages large volumes of data obtained from scientific experiments. Provides statistical support on research data.

      

    For Sr roles:

    Designs, builds, and maintains a robust and flexible informatics infrastructure to support data collection. Coordinates data storage and mining with informatics groups or other screening centers.

    Works with staff to analyze data from all stages of assay optimization and probe discovery. Manages large volumes of data obtained from scientific experiments. Provides statistical support on research data. Evaluates commercial software packages and technology. Develops and installs software to convert analytical data files for importing.

    Provides reports on data analysis which assist the program with accomplishing research goals. Evaluates commercial software packages and technology. Develops/installs software to take raw data files from the instrument hard drives and publish them on the network. Mining of databases. Provides training and acts to mentor new staff members.

    Qualifications

    2-3+ years experience in a related field.  Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and database management. Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting. Experience with data mining.

     

    Minimum Education:

     

    Master’s degree in a science related field. Two (2) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Master’s degree.

     

     

    For Sr roles:

     

    Minimum/General Experience:

     

    4-7+ years experience in a related field.  Computer skills to include MS Office Suite and database management. Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting. Experience with data mining.

     

    Minimum Education:

     

    Ph.D. degree in a science related field. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.
