CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

Responsibilities

Performs research activities and other tasks in a laboratory environment. Records observations and measurements and reports results at weekly laboratory meetings.  Documents and analyzes data from experiments. Collaborates with staff to review and report data. Maintains lab notebooks and lab equipment. Writes technical reports and prepares manuscripts. Performs lab techniques which study the chemical processes of living organisms. Conducts research experiments that will determine the effects of food, drugs, serums, hormones, and other substances on tissues and processes of living organisms. Presents findings at scientific conferences and meetings.

  

For Sr roles:

Conducts research experiments that will determine the effects of food, drugs, serums, hormones, and other substances on tissues and processes of living organisms. Presents findings at scientific conferences and meetings. Participates in the development of laboratory procedures. Evaluate new technologies and instruments. Oversees the junior staff of the laboratory in the design and execution of proper biochemical protocols.

 

Qualifications

 

1-3 years experience or equivalent. Basic computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Background in biology, chemistry, and/or biophysics.

 

Minimum Education:

 

Bachelor’s degree in a science related field.

 

For Sr roles:

3-6 years experience or equivalent. Basic computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Background in biology, chemistry, and/or biophysics. Relevant laboratory experience in automation and instrumentation. A high degree of judgment in establishing priorities to successfully complete tasks required.

Ability to multi-task in a high-volume fast paced work environment. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines and ethics that govern research.

 

Minimum Education:

 

Ph.D. in a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.
