CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates to provide scientific, technical, and other professional support services to assist the National Institutes of Health (NIH-- which is comprised of the Office of the Director and 27 Institutes and Centers) in meeting its operational objectives.

Responsibilities

CAMRIS seeks Acupuncturists on a contingent hire basis to: 

  • Perform acupuncture, acupressure, Tai Chi, Qigong and other miscellaneous Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practices
  • Perform REC and Bio-magnetic Therapy
  • Provide protocol-related acupuncture treatment to patients according to patient needs
  • Serve as the lead instructor and coordinator of the Tai Chi program
  • Suggest proper acupuncture treatment after discussing the status with the physician
  • Provide education to patients about treatment sessions
  • Work with Principle Investigator to design new research protocols

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Between eight (8) and fifteen (15) years of experience working in TCM
  • Extensive knowledge of complementary and alternative medicine
  • Knowledge of Federal policies for patient privacy and handling of medical records
  • Extensive experience in communicating orally and written and using sound judgment, discretion, and sensitivity
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Certification of graduation from an accredited acupuncture program.
