CAMRIS is seeking a MS SQL DBA to work at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, MD.

Responsibilities

  1. Administers, manages, designs, documents, and evaluates a variety of database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  2. Maintains and administers database server and middleware tools used to develop Web database systems and framework.
  3. Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures.
  4. Evaluates database server integrity and security.
  5. Audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import.
  6. Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.
  7. Assists information system analysts in the development of SQL queries, including for data mining.
  8. Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff.
  9. Researches and implements new database and online technology.
  10. Ensures that IT programs and databases comply with all applicable regulations and policies, including Federal, DA and MEDCOM.
  11. Communicates project status, issues, and resolutions as required.
  12. Develops database and related application documentation as required.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate:

 

  • 6-10 years of industry experience
  • 2-3 years experience administering  MS SQL databases of 500+ GB in size
  • Experience with Replication and syncronization of multiple databases
  • Bonus points for experience with Sharepoint, reporting, and / or BI
  • Previous experience with this or similar role within the US Army or DoD.

 

Bare Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT? 
  • 2+ years of recent experience administering  MS SQL databases in a government environment.
  • Secret Security Clearance or higher
