CAMRIS is currently seeking a Community Development Specialist for the upcoming Support That Augments Rapid Transitions (START) IQC with USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives. The purpose of the contract is to provide fast, flexible programming and logistical support targeted at key political transition and stabilization needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand the relationship between communities and civil society organizations and the OTI program. 
  • Develop activities related to economic recovery and market systems, livelihood development, and innovative approaches in mobilizing resources at community, local and international levels.
  • Ensure gender equality and social inclusion throughout all stages of the project.
  • Conduct analyses of community development.
  • Plan and prepare clear and concise written reports of detailed analyses and findings.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in sociology/anthropology, conflict resolution, community mobilization, or other relevant field.
  • Experience in education, management, economics, or social sciences.
  • Experience living or working in developing countries.
  • Demonstrated successful professional career in community management, community mobilization, working through communities and working with communities.
  • Previous experience in effectively addressing organizational objectives and strategic messaging through public outreach campaigns.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong cross-cultural and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated high-level organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Previous experience with USAID is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in a second language is preferred.
