Overview

CAMRIS International is seeking an experienced Project Director to effectively lead a contract with the United States Agency for International Development, Office of Transition Initiatives. This opportunity will provide institutional and operational logistical support and short-term technical assistance, in the field and Washington, as needed by current country programs and/or prior to and during new country program start-ups.

Responsibilities

The IQC Project Director will be responsible for:

  • Responding to all Task Orders issued under the IQC.  
  • Serve as the Primary point of contact for the Government POC. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with USAID and implementing partners
  • Oversee deployment and support of field staff as well as the set-up and maintenance of both short and long-term field offices. 
  • Write techncal proposals and supervise budgeting teams for IDIQ responses
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate all workplans.   
  • Reports to Senior Management on progress of all actiivites. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing and providing program and operational support and project management within developing countries and with a USG foreign affairs agency,international assistance organization, or non-governmental organization.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher education in relevant fields including but not limited to international development and social sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Supervisory, management, leadership and interpersonal skills, writing and oral communication skills.
  • Experience living or working in a developing country.
  • Previous experience working with an Office of Transition Initiatives implementing partner strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of political transition and conflict mitigation programs and activities.
  • Minimum three years of overseas experience in conflict-prone countries.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience as a manager.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and use political analysis to inform and shape program strategy.
  • Excellent political analysis, program and project management, and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others in challenging environments.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English required. Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is desirable, but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate for a long-term position.
  • Able to be cleared at the Secret Level.
